Calvert is excited to announce its recent partnership with Air Ambulance NI to support their educational initiative, ‘Helimed Ed.’ The collaboration aims to inspire and raise awareness among primary school children in N Ireland about the essential services provided by the helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) through a variety of cross-curricular activities.
‘Helimed Ed.’ is a comprehensive educational resource designed for primary school children, offering a range of activities encompassing Literacy, Numeracy, World Around Us, and PDMU topics. The resource has been created to encourage discussions and learning about the region’s most recent emergency service, safety measures, and appropriate responses to emergencies.
The partnership with Calvert seeks to enhance classroom learning in subjects like language, literacy, and numeracy, with the hope of inspiring future careers as pilots, doctors, paramedics, engineers, or even volunteers for charitable causes.
Air Ambulance NI relies on community support to maintain its life-saving operations, with a daily fundraising goal of £6,850. The organisation encourages schools, school councils, and parent support groups to consider supporting Air Ambulance NI through initiatives such as non-uniform days, bake sales, or physical challenges like the daily mile. Every contribution plays a vital role in sustaining the air ambulance’s mission of saving lives, protecting brains, and preserving limbs across the region.
Calvert is proud to be part of this partnership and encourages educators and schools to embrace ‘Helimed Ed.’ as a valuable resource for promoting education, safety, and community support.
